The shape of a good day off
No itinerary, one museum, a long walk, and dinner before sunset. A theory of unhurried days.
A theory: the best day off you ever have on a trip is the one with the least on it.
The shape
Coffee, slow. A walk somewhere with a destination you will not reach. One museum, only one, and not for too long. Lunch on a bench. A second walk that ends at a different door than you remembered closing in the morning. Dinner before sunset, somewhere you have walked past every previous day without going in.
That is the whole shape. There is nothing else to it. It does not work for two days in a row.
