What I packed for the Pyrenees
Eight days, one carry-on, two pairs of socks too many. A list, and what I would change.
A short note on what came along on a recent walk in the Spanish Pyrenees. Nothing here is sponsored; if anything I am annoyed at most of it.
The pack itself
A 40L panel-loader. Smaller than I am usually tempted to carry, and so I left behind: a second jacket, a third book, the fold-out keyboard I have never once typed on at altitude.
The boots
I will not name them. They were not the right boots. They are now, after eight days, the right boots, but the path from one to the other is paid in blisters.
What I would change
Fewer socks. More chocolate. A smaller paperback. The same boots, broken in at home this time, not on the trail.
